gracenmI guess I'm going to plant a little flag here, just in case anyone comes looking for me after the Tumblrpocalypse, lol. I have been jealous when I look back at the community that fic writers had on LJ and here in the past, since Tumblr doesn't really offer anything close to that. We've been doing our best to support each other for the I Will Remember You Marathon (which is exclusively Buffy/Angel fic), which is great, but it definitely seems like there used to be a lot more cross-pollination that doesn't seem to happen now. Maybe that's a function of time passing / fewer people participating (or battle lines calcifying), or maybe it's more that current fandom spaces aren't conducive to that.
Anyway, I'm planning to use my journal to talk about writing and maybe just do some thinking-out-loud and planning here instead of bugging my beloved beta every five minutes. We'll see.
For this November's IWRY Marathon, I wrote four Buffy/Angel stories:
Inescapable - A romance genre-y post-Chosen AU with formalwear and a hot tub
kiss me hard before you go - A very angsty post-S1 one-shot
Daybreak - A fluffy post-canon one-shot in which Angel has Shanshu'd
Psyche - A 22K story that marked my first real attempt at plotting and is loosely based on Cupid and Psyche
I also wrote some Buffy/Angelus smut that I chickened out from posting. We'll see if I get the nerve eventually.
In the works now:
In beta: A Faith/Cordelia one-shot for Buffy Femslash Secret Santa
Writing: A Buffy/Faith one-shot that I may also post for Femslash Secret Santa
Outlining: A B/A soulmate AU in which slayers get marks when they are called and Buffy's just happens to be a gryphon-y A associated with pretty much the worst vampire ever.
Dreaming about: Tons! But most developed-ish are a post-Season 12 story and a butcher shop AU, which would be like a coffee shop AU but Buffy works in a butcher shop as a slaying sidegig and Angel is a vampire who gets his blood there. I'm thinking dark romantic comedy. With Jenny in a Whistler-esque role as Angel's "sassy best friend."
