Shocked to see the news yesterday of Nick Brendon's passing at the young age of 54. I know that in his post-Buffy years he made some terrible life choices and struggled with his RL demons but, as a Xander writer, I will always be grateful for the way he brought my favourite Buffy character to life in all his messiness and complexity - it made him endlessly fascinating to write and was one of the main drivers of my fandom creativity for over 20 years. My condolences to Nick's family and especially to his twin, Kelly - I can't imagine what it must be like to lose the other half of yourself.
