What I'm Reading

My friend Mrs Gordo and I added it all up yesterday and this year's I Will Remember You Marathon produced more than 180,000 words of Buffy/Angel fic. Which is pretty incredible when you compare it to last year's total of about 82,000. So that kept me busy for most of November. I'll include a full list of the stories below. If you're looking for just a couple to read, I think my very favorites were First Love and So Hurry Up and Lose Me, Hurry Up and Find Me (Again).

I'm currently reading two WIPs:

• The Our Time series by rippergiles, which follows Giles and Ethan from their first meeting in 1973 at Oxford. I'm reading the second part now. There are eight parts completed, with the most recent one set during The Dark Age.
• Are We There Yet? by Chlo88, which is a Buffy/Faith story set post-Season 12. So far, it's three chapters and really sweet. I was definitely among those who was left wanting more of Buffy and Faith as rookie cops by the Dark Horse finale, and this is scratching that itch nicely.

I've participated on & off throughout the years in the marathon and I remember the days when we had to have two posts per day. There has been a significant decline in participation over the years. But those numbers are really good to see, especially when you consider it was 14 authors this year.

I wanted to write at least one other story but my muse wouldn't play along. Maybe next year. I am a little behind on reading the fics that the marathon produced so I will have to start with the two that you rec'd.

Yes, it's encouraging that people seem interested again. There have been some lean years recently!

Glad I stumbled upon this because I wasn't sure which fic to read next from the marathon, so mentioning your faves is useful! (Especially given that I've already read "First Love" so... it really narrowed down my choice haha)
